Coffee Packaging Solutions

Coffee is consumed in many different forms, such as coffee beans, instant coffee (Classic & Gold), filter coffee, espresso, and Turkish coffee. Each product type requires different coffee packaging solutions. Today, while zippered doypack is the most common packaging type in instant coffee packaging, filter coffee packaging, and espresso coffee packaging applications, flat bottom pouches are used as standard in coffee bean packaging projects, and pillow bags are used as standard in Turkish coffee packaging applications.

Pouches are generally preferred as 250 g - 1 kg in coffee bean packaging projects, 100-250 g in instant coffee and filter coffee packaging applications, and mostly 100 g in Turkish coffee packaging projects. To preserve aroma and freshness for a long time in coffee packaging applications, aluminum or metalized PET/PE laminated packaging is mostly used. This structure provides a high barrier against oxygen, moisture, and light, thereby protecting product quality.

Each coffee product requires a different packaging technology. While multi-head weighers are used in coffee bean packaging lines, ground coffees such as Turkish coffee, filter coffee, and espresso are dosed with auger filling systems. In instant coffee packaging lines, high weighing precision is achieved by using special feeding systems and customized multi-head weighers suitable for the product structure.

Checkweigher, X-Ray, and metal detector systems depending on the suitable packaging structure can be used in coffee packaging lines. Powerful dust extraction systems and controlled ambient conditions are of great importance for stable and efficient production, particularly due to the fine dust generated in instant coffee packaging projects.
