Instant Soup Packaging Solutions

Instant soups are today most commonly presented in supermarkets in 3-side seal and 4-side seal sachet pouches. In this type of instant soup packaging applications, almost all manufacturers prefer metalized PET + PE laminated films as the packaging material. The metalized structure helps protect the product from external factors such as moisture and oxygen, thereby extending its shelf life.

Instant soups are generally packaged in the range of 20-70 grams. While 20-25 gram sachet pouches are mostly preferred for single-serve products, pouches in the 60-70 gram range are used for family-type products suitable for preparing more portions. Pouch dimensions are largely standardized among manufacturers, allowing for easy transition between different weights with the same machine in instant soup packaging lines.

Instant soups are dosed with auger filling systems. Depending on the flow characteristics of the product, hopper systems with agitators suitable for free-flow or non-free-flow structures are used. Product feeding can be automatically provided via screw conveyors or vacuum conveyors. Selecting the correct filling system is of great importance in terms of high capacity and stable filling performance in the instant soup packaging process.

Auger powder filling systems do not weigh; they operate on a volumetric filling principle that aims to dispense the same volume in each cycle. For this reason, as the homogeneity of the product mixture increases, the weight precision also rises. In powder product applications, checkweigher systems are essential equipment for continuously monitoring filling accuracy. Since the packagings are mostly produced from metalized film, conveyor-type X-ray systems are preferred for foreign matter inspection. In addition, utilizing dust extraction systems at the correct points to control the dust that may occur during filling and packaging is one of the indispensable elements of an efficient and clean production line.
